Baking soda
Washing dishes can be a pain when food sticks to pots and pans. But don’t panic, the best remedy for cleaning is a simple and affordable ingredient that everyone has on hand: baking soda! All you have to do is sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda on the bottom of dirty containers. Avoid diluting the powder too much in water beforehand. Then, wait about 30 minutes before using an abrasive sponge or metal scraper to scrub and rinse. You will immediately notice its effectiveness! And this trick is still natural without harmful chemicals. You can apply baking soda to your sponge every time you wash dishes.
As for the outside of pots and pans, they can be cleaned with baking soda, vinegar, and lemon juice. You can mix 2 tablespoons of each ingredient and rub the outside of the pots with the resulting paste. The dirt will disappear immediately.
White Vinegar and Baking Soda
For this trick you will not only need baking soda but also white vinegar, but there are a few steps to follow before applying them:
Remove as much burnt food and debris from the pan as possible.
Place the pan back on the stove and heat it until a drop of water sizzles.
Add 1 cup of water or a mixture of ½ cup water and ½ cup white vinegar to the hot pan and bring to a boil. Use more white vinegar if you have a large saucepan or skillet.
While the liquid is simmering, use the spatula or scraper to scrape the bottom of the pan, removing any burnt-on food residue.
Pour the liquid into the sink and do not dry or wipe the pan.
Sprinkle the bottom of the pan generously with baking soda and allow it to cool.
Using a damp sponge or nylon brush, briskly scrub the bottom of the pan.
Wash and dry as usual once all burnt-on stains and bits have been removed.
